ÿ€ ÿ€ IP BASED SOC DESIGN'2003 will be the 12th edition of the IFIP workshop on hot topics in the design world, focusing for the past three years on IP based SoC design and qualification. The areas of interest for the IP BASED SOC DESIGN'2003 event includes but not restricted to Silicon IP,IP based design platforms, verification IP, software IPs IP/SoC qualification, emulation and prototyping, IP packaging and exchange, IP/SoC design data management, IP/SoC design flow and impact of System C. Similarly to the previous events, this workshop in 2003 will be partitioned into technical papers, panels and invited papers with a balanced contribution from industrial and academic participants. Tentatively, Keynote talks will include the 3 following participations: "Recent Trends in Multi-Million-Gate SOC Designs" by Santanu Dutta IP Design manager at Philips (U.S.A) "The IP Provider Game: Size and Diversity Do Matter" by Dr Raul Camposano CTO of Synopsys (U.S.A) "Design platform for IP based SOC design" by Ted Vucurevich CTO of Cadence (USA) Special sessions will be organised on hot topics and are already planned "Impact of submicron technologies for IP based SOC design" organized by Roberto Suaya from Mentor Graphics (USA) "AMS and IP-based design" organized by Ron Gyurcsik from Cadence (U.S.A) "Highlights on Medea project results Toolip ( Tool for IPs) and Mesa (Multiprocessor embedded system architecture)" Hot Panels will be part of an attractive program and every participant will be invited to share his views with the audience. Are considered and under preparation the following ones: "Is reconfigurable architectures suitable for IPs ?"organized by Pr Michel Robert from LIRRM (FR) "IP qualification : the user prospective" organized by Philippe Magarshack from STM (Fr) "IP based SOC design platforms: How far can automated tools help for integration" organized by Joe Hanson from Altera (USA) "IP business models" organized by P.Dworsky from Synopsys (USA) "Reuse practice leveraged by the Toolip project outcome" organized by Joseph Borel (Consultant, FR) IP/SOC 2003 best prizes Similarly to the previous years a contest for delivering the best IP/SOC design 2003 will be organised by Tim Daniels from LSI Logic(UK) and this year two prizes will be delivered namely: "IP based 2003 best IP/SOC design" under the sponsorship of ST Microelectronics (FR) "The best of LSI IP Design Award in Japan" under the sponsorship of Nikkei (Japan) EXHIBITION An exhibition will take place during the 2 days of the workshop. Book your space now SEMINAR Prior to the workshop and the day before ( 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM) a 2 hours seminar on "Lessons learnt on intranet catalog and IP packaging and delivery platform" will be given by Pr Gabriele Saucier from Design And Reuse (FR). The audience will be restricted to a reduced number to facilitate a real experience sharing in this area. PROGRAM COMMITTEE MEMBERS Technical Program Chair : H.
